Dr Vijay Kumar C Bada, Surgical Gastroenterologist and Head of Minimal access and Robotic Sciences Department performed Robotic cholecystectomy. The patient was ambulant within four hours of surgery, and she had food on the same night and was discharged the next day.

Speaking about the procedure on Thursday, Dr Kumar congratulated his support team who coordinated and made possible the success of the surgery. While hailing the advantages of the Robotic surgery, he said that Robotic services were present in a few and select centres across the country.
