A student-led initiative, TILE Oakridge (Talks on Innovation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship) took place at the Oakridge International School, Newton Campus on Thursday.

Through the platform leaders and entrepreneurs share their inspirational stories with the audience in an interactive session. In line with this, the students core committee opened the TILE chapter and interviewed the speakers that included Dr Ekta Ahuja, the resilient director of a specialist Bio-Chemical MNC; Shobu Yarlagadda, the producer of India’s biggest blockbuster, Baahubali; and Neha Swain, the founder of Rubaroo (an NGO) and the honorary recipient of the Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.

Speaking about their life journey, one of the luminaries, Ekta said, “Word innovation has been too much glamorised now-a-days. To start something innovative and different from the world, we sit back and waste lot of time.”

Neha and Shobhu added, “We need to become more willing to drive the innovation rather than just planning to start. So, if you haven’t started then need to start now.”

Arjun Rao, Principal, Oakridge International School, Newton said, “TILE took place in Oakridge Newton for the first time this year.

Completely student run and managed, the event allowed students to interact with leaders in various fields and understand their inspiration, motivation and desires driving their success and critical learnings from their failure.”
