100 hours of cleanliness

Participating in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign NFC conducted a cleanliness drive in the city on Monday. The campaign included drawing of Swachhata plan, weeding of old records following due procedure, identifying new areas for cleaning, competitions for promoting awareness on Swachhata, essay writing competitions, shramdaan, cleaning of working areas and talk by G Kalyanakrishnan, Scientist – Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC.

Floral tributes were given to bust of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar followed by speeches by Dr Dinesh Srivastava, Scientist and Deputy Chief Executive (Fuels) and Dr RP Acharya, Deputy Chief Executive (Admn).

The speakers stressed upon the importance of Swachhata not only in the working area but also in the surrounding areas. During his talk on ‘Special Swachhata Abhiyaan’, Kalyanakrishnan emphasised on the necessity of keeping the surroundings clean and stressed upon the continuous mission mode.

A pledge for cleanliness was administered to the participants in which it was pledged to always be alert towards hygiene and spare time of 100 hours every year towards ‘shramdaan’ and make another 100 people to take the same pledge. The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Executives, General Manager, representatives of officers, supervisors and workmen.
