Dr Vipparthi S J Wesly Kumar working as Assistant Registrar in the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been awarded PhD at the Braham Kumaris Global Peace Auditorium, Gachibowli recently.

Dr Kumar received the doctorate for his thesis entitled “Education and Social Exclusion of Dalits in slums of Hyderabad”, which was done under the guidance of Prof. N. Sudhakar Rao and Dr S Ramudu, from the Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive policy, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad.

Dr Kumar started his career at the University from 1992. He has completed his Graduation in Commerce from Osmania University, MA, from Kakatiya University, PG Diploma in Human Rights from University of Hyderabad and M Phil through Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad.

His primary areas of interest include education, problems of Dalits and exclusion. He has attributed his success to the encouragement and support received from the University administration, officers, colleagues, faculty, friends and family members.
