The announcement came from organisers Dr Ushalakshmi Foundation at a presser in the city on Thursday. In addition, the seventh edition of ‘Paint the city Pink’ will be on Saturday to create breast cancer awareness.

The announcement came from organisers Dr Ushalakshmi Foundation at a presser in the city on Thursday. In addition, the seventh edition of ‘Paint the city Pink’ will be on Saturday to create breast cancer awareness.

The events are being oragnised as part of ‘International Breast cancer Awareness’ month, which is in October. Speaking on this occasion, Dr B Bhaskar Rao, MD & CEO of KIMS Hospitals announced free breast cancer screening programme for journalists and their immediate families during the month of October. This would be done at KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases.

R Radhakrishna, General Manager (HR) at State Bank of India for Telangana & AP said that SBI is delighted to partner with UBF and present the Pink Ribbon Walk 2017. Dr P Raghu Ram, CEO, Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation outlined the initiatives being organised in October. “In addition to the walk, the Oro Sports Village’ will associate with us for the second ‘Dr Ushalakshmi Pink Ribbon Tournament’,” he said.

“This Sporting Tournament in an endeavour to create awareness about importance of early detection of breast cancer during the International Breast Cancer Awareness month at Oro Sports Village on October 15. Dynamic sports women from schools, colleges and corporates will be participating in multiple sporting events,” he said.
