Dilsukhnagar Arena and Creative Multimedia College of Fine Arts (CMCFA) celebrated International Animation Day (IAD) with great fanfare at Ravindra Bharathi recently.

Kadiyam Srihari, Deputy Chief Minister, Telangana, attended the IAD. He said, that the proposed ‘Image Towers’ and the new initiatives of the Telangana Government are expected to drive digital media industry growth in the State and boost job opportunities for students of Animation, VFX, Web and Graphic Design.

Jayesh Ranjan, IT Secretary, Telangana addressed the students and said that after Charminar and Cyber Towers, Hyderabad will now be defined by ‘Image Towers’, a full-fledged 6,00,000 sq ft facility dedicated to promoting the Digital Media and Entertainment industry in the State, which is attracting the likes of James Cameron and other marquee names in the global entertainment business. Riding on the huge success of ‘Baahubali’, and with the groundbreaking ceremony of ‘Image Towers’ in Hyderabad set to take place November 5.

Ranjan expressed confidence that many more big names in entertainment are expected to come to establish their presence in Hyderabad in the days to come: all with the assurance that trained manpower will be available. “This is a great opportunity for digital media career aspirants,” he said.
Pete Draper, Division Head and Chief Technical Director of Makuta VFX, delivered an engaging presentation on the behind-the-scenes VFX artistry that went into the creation of ‘Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion’.
