GHMC cracks whip on tax collections in South zone
Officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) are focusing on collection of property taxes in most of the areas in the Old City. Special orders have been given to the staff to speed up and stream line the tax collections in the South zone.

Following the complaints that many owners were delaying in remitting the property taxes, municipal officials have started focusing more on people who do not pay their taxes in time.
South zone deputy commissioner B Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with the circle officials recently and asked them to streamline the tax collection. He said that about Rs 12.23 crore taxes under Property Tax head were collected so far.
Municipal officials are planning to use other options to persuade the people who were evading or delaying in remitting the taxes.
