The Hyderabad Metro Rail corporate office has been getting a lot of appreciation for its eco-friendly measures and off late it has also become a most preferred place for meetings of other departments as well. Apart from its swanky premises, it is the large number of butterflies that the place attracts, which makes the corporate office unique.

Flowery plants that attract butterflies such as lantana, exoria, jetropha, tecoma capensis, galfemia and many others have been planted. Raghavan, an advertisement professional, who visited the corporate office said, “I was pleasantly surprised to see so many butterflies fluttering about and when I enquired I was told that it was due to the flowery plants.”
Sainath Sunkara, OSD, Horticulture wing, HMR said that a lot of thinking went into landscaping as trees have been planted at equidistance and creepers at strategic locations so that it beautifies the place. A senior officer of HMDA said, “We conducted a few meetings at the HMR corporate office for its location as well as its aesthetic values.”
Just a few years ago, the place was a swamp and full of garbage. HMR authorities have also beautified a small stretch of police land and are presently using it as a nursery.
