Habitual thief nabbed
A habitual offender who has been stealing laptops and mobile phone in hostels was held here on Friday. Rankireddy Venkataswamy, the accused, who is hailing from Rajahmahendravaram was taken into custody by the local police for committing several robberies.

PD Act was also revoked against the accused and was sent to jail for some time. But, Venkataswamy started robberies after releasing from the prison. During interrogation, he agreed that he committed four robberies in SR Nagar Police Station limits. Four laptops and six mobile phones were seized from the offender and sent him for remand.
According to the detective inspector, six warrants have been in pending against the accused in case in 2014. He was also accused for cheating two lakh rupees in Rajahmundry and stealing of Rs 50, 000 in Vijayawada. He was absconding and found to be residing in Guntur. Panjagutta ACP Vijaykumar appreciated the crime branch for capturing the fugitive.
