Even though US President Ivanka Trump’s visit to Charminar, Lad Bazaar and other tourist spots across the Old City was cancelled, many streets here wore a clean look on Tuesday much to the surprise of passers-by.

Locals “thanked” the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) that ensured GHMC deployed workers in patching up the roads.
The closed entrance of the Chowmahalla Palace also looked unusually clean on Tuesday. Generally, there would be a pile of garbage and debris beside the structure however, it was unusually well-maintained that caught everyone with surprise. According to a resident, “Interestingly, the municipal staff never bother to attend to the cleanliness of the entrance and despite many complaints this area is used to dump the garbage by locals and nearby shops.”
However, as part of the beautification measures across the city, especially in the Old, the entrance of the Chowmahalla Palace was cleaned. People voice that this scene should be maintained in the coming days as well in order to keep the heritage structure look good and attractive for tourists.
