Kapra: The 127th death anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was observed at Sainikpuri here on Tuesday by garlanding the statue of Phule. Rich tributes were paid to him on the occasion. The death anniversary was observed under the aegis of the Tirupataiah Seva Samiti. Uppal legislator NVSN Prabhakar and T-MASS general secretary Vamsaraju Mallesh and others graced the occasion.
The first ever statue of Phule was installed in South India by Tirupatayya Mudiraj at Sainikpuri. Ward members Sankar Ramtulasi and Rajesh and BJP leaders Rajanikant Reddy and Venkat took part in the programme.
