Hyacinth to be used as compost

Hyderabad: Deputy Municipal Commissioner S Pankaja on Friday inspected the process of preparing compost from weeded out hyacinth from the Kapra tank.

Speaking on the occasion, she explained the six-step procedure in preparing the compost. “The compost made from the roots of hyacinth will be used for flower plants. The compost made from the rest of hyacinth can be used for agriculture crops,” she added. Entomologist A E Srinivasa Reddy, Khar Energy Optimiser official K L M Raju and others were present.
