Rahmat Ali, a resident of Yakutpura said, “All wait for Milad-Un-Nabi as it brings people together. Friends and relatives from faraway places make it a point to come home.”
An old tradition, Qawwalis that were held a few times a week reduced to almost once in six months, but for the festival, qawwalis are a must and old timers just relish the atmosphere.

Security beefed up at Mecca Masjid
About 5,000 policemen would be posted at Mecca Masjid that include teams from civil police and Rapid Action Force (RAF). Senior police officials said that more than 25,000 are expected to offer afternoon prayers at Mecca Masjid. A procession from Charminar to Moghulpura is planned and several police teams would be deployed to avoid any untoward incidents.
