Hyderabad: Now that the Metro Rail is flying in the city, decision-makers are focussing on developing the infrastructure even more. In this regard, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) planned to develop two road corridors in city.

Both the civic bodies were instructed to commence working on Rethibowli-Lingampally and Nallagandla-Khajaguda corridors. Road development works would be completed with the help of National Road Development Corporation. A few days ago, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan along with Municipal Department Secretary Navin Mittal, R&B and GHMC officials inspected possible locations where the roads could be developed.

Speaking on the project, the Mayor that the Municipal Corporation decided to develop the two corridors covering Rethibowli, Khajaguda, Lingampally, BHEL and Nallagandla, Gopanapally, Nanakramguda, Wipro towards Khajaguda. He instructed officials to come up with a plan to carry out the development activities on these corridors.

A convergence meeting would be held by GHMC, HMDA and R&B officials to have a proper idea of starting the works. It was decided that the previously done development works like flyovers, underpass and other works would be linked with the corridor works.

Municipal officials informed that 100 junctions have been developed already with a cost of Rs 24 crore and 100 more would be developed in the coming days.
