Hyderabad: The second edition of the extreme gaming event, AMD GameOn 2017 was a daylong extravagant LAN-party attended by over 200 tech enthusiasts and gamers here on Sunday night.
The event was organised by engineers of the Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) to bring gamers under one roof and celebrate the spirit of video gaming. Andrej Zdravkovic, Corporate Vice President, Software Development & Management, AMD inaugurated the event.
During the event, AMD Radeon fans, gamers and challengers got to experience exclusive access to the customised rigs with custom liquid cooling loops, VR, exotic dyes and unmatched power from AMD. The exhibition space showcased products powered by AMD’s top of the line newly released CPU and GPU’s including Radeon RX Vega 64, Ryzen 1800X, Ryzen Threadripper 1950x. The two featured games this year were CS Go and Dota 2. Entrants played as individual gamers and as clan of five.
Cash prizes of up to Rs 50,000 were given to winning teams and gamer that included Dota 2 Clan winners - 'Team Luck no Excuse' led by Jashen Rajeev; Cs go Clan winners - 'Team 911' led by Vallabh Prathmesh Naidu and Individual winners Mandadi Sai Vikas, Yashraj Baheti, and Aslam Parvez.
The fans also got the opportunity to experience Quake Championship and Wolfenstein, the latest game titles from Bethesda. “We also had the presence of Ogre Head Studio, the developers of award winning game “Asura” that recently won the “Game of the year” award at the recently held Nasscom Gaming Forum 2017,” said organisers.
