MLA raises stink over nalas
Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar undertook a padayatra in Uppal and adjoining areas on Sunday as a mark of protest against overflowing nalas in the area. He was accompanied by GHMC officials and other locals, who went around the areas to observe ground reality of each overflowing nala.

Speaking on the occasion, Prabhakar said, “This protest will continue till we and the residents of my constituency get a permanent solution to these over flowing nalas and drainage. If the government does not listen through peaceful protests, I shall organise dharnas with people in front of government offices to get permanent solutions to the problems in the area.”
Many areas in Uppal constituency are plagued by overflowing nalas for over five years now. In many cases, residents inform that dirty water is mixed with drinking water and that diseases are on the rise due to incessant breeding of mosquitoes and other insects.
