Transgenders and hijras from the State will stage a dharna at Jantar-Mantar in Delhi on December 17 to demonstrate their opposition to the bill passed in 2016 for them.
Hyderabad: Transgenders and hijras from the State will stage a dharna at Jantar-Mantar in Delhi on December 17 to demonstrate their opposition to the bill passed in 2016 for them.
Speaking at the Telangana Intellectuals’ Forum meeting at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here on Sunday, Telangana State Transgenders’ Association president Chandramukhi said that the State and Central governments have been looking down upon them for no fault of theirs – being born as a transgender.
She appealed to the members of the tribe to turn out in large numbers for the proposed protest as transgenders all over the world are converging at Delhi.
Members of the association Sona, Archana and Monalisa and the Intellectual forum leader Himabindu Visweswara Rao and others took part.
