Hyderabad: Move over the beautification of Global Entrepreneur Summit (GES)! It’s all about World Telugu Conference (WTC), which will be held in the city after over four decades. In this regard, beautification works are apace and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials and the community is working in tandem to ensure world-class arrangements.

With only a day left for the Conference, all departments including GHMC, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), Traffic Police, other officials and workers are running pillar-to-post to complete the works. GHMC has taken up the road repair work, street art, lighting in and around the Lal Bahadur Stadium and typographic symbols of Telugu letters are dominating all streets.

A major attraction in the themed street art. It may be noted that what was done as “random” during GES, is not the case anymore and credit goes to planners who put the Telugu theme on centrestage. Much to the welcome of onlookers, the art works done at boundary walls in the area are based on culture and traditions of Telangana.

Murals depict the daily lives of people in Telangana. It includes perspectives of music, harvesting, religion and others. Weddings, cultural activities, puja, marriage ceremonies, folk songs, kathakali dance forms, bullock carts, huts and others are prominently drawn showing local aspects of life here, which represents the culture of Telangana.
