Creating awareness about farmers’ issues
As part of National Farmers\' Day, Rythu Swarajya Vedika in collaboration with NGO Mulam organised an awareness drive sensitising people towards the issues faced by farmers here recently. As part of the event, members of the organisation sloganeered in support of farmers.
Tarnaka: As part of National Farmers' Day, Rythu Swarajya Vedika in collaboration with NGO Mulam organised an awareness drive sensitising people towards the issues faced by farmers here recently. As part of the event, members of the organisation sloganeered in support of farmers.
The Centre for Sustainable Agriculture organised a book exhibition showcasing scientific methods in which a farmer can have a good yield of crops. A poster exhibition with the theme "Who killed Mallana?" highlighting the plight of farmers caught in a debt trap was also showcased.
Panel discussions on issues related to income guarantee commission, support system policy reformation, and debt traps were held on the occasion. Artistes from the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University drew paintings which would be auctioned to raise funds for a farmer's family whose head committed suicide. Over 100 people attended the event.
