In a month the borewells are dysfunctional for at least 10 days at a stretch. After multiple complains, workers from GHMC repair it, but it is temporary- Lakshmikanth Reddy, software employee

Sharing details of the problems Lakshmikanth Reddy, a software employee and a local said, “In a month the borewells are dysfunctional for at least 10 days at a stretch. After multiple complains, workers from GHMC repair it, but it is temporary.”

“We have to book tankers to get water. The cost of every tanker is around Rs 500 to Rs 600, if we want water immediately. If we want it at a lesser price we have to book tankers in advance. Sometimes even after booking there is no assurance that all of us would get water, as there is long queue when the tanker arrives,” added G Snehalata, a homemaker and resident.

According to residents, the problem in the area is due to lower levels of groundwater. Locals allege that the government has not taken any action towards water problems in the area.

When contacted, a senior official from GHMC denied any such complains. “So far, we did not receive any complaint from the area regarding water problems. However, I shall escalate the matter to the head of the department on an immediate basis for timely action,” said the officials.
