Responding to the article \"Moin Cheruvu Shrinking\" published in The Hans India on Tuesday, the GHMC officials clarified the issue by stating that the lands of the lake have been kept intact and the full tank level which accounts to 41-acres, stays untouched except for a few graves on right flank of the bund.

Informing about the developmental status of the water body, the GHMC authorities said that the proposals to develop the lake and its surroundings have been submitted to Government and the approval is pending from the concerned authorities. Regarding encroachment of University lands, GHMC officials said that the University authorities have to take necessary initiatives for protection.
