Hyderabad: The Shariah Faisla Board has announced to campaign for a Talaq-free Muslim society. Terming the Triple Talaq Bill as 'Black Bill', the Shariah Faisla Board demanded that the government withdraw the bill immediately as it is 'anti-Shariah' and 'anti-Islam'.

To protest the government's decision on Triple Talaq Bill, leaders from different Muslim organisations and activists will assemble at Darul Shifa Masjid on January 6 and a memorandum will be submitted to State Governor.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Convenor Shariah Faisla Board Mushtaq Malik announced that the Board, which comprises of Ulemas and Islamic scholars from different schools of thought, will initiate a door-to-door campaign to create awareness among masses for a Talaq-free society. The campaign will be propagated through social media and Friday sermons at mosques to multiply pace of the awareness campaign.

The Board announced to set up counselling centres for Muslim couples to impart them knowledge about Triple Talaq from an Islamic point of view. It will work to help save marriage of disturbed Muslim couples by counselling them, and enlightening them on the social and moral problems trailing henceforth.

“The ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ is in violation of Article 25 of the constitution of India, and the BJP government is not constitutionally entitled to withdraw or violate the constitutional guarantee the freedom of religion without amending the constitution,” said Malik.

Mufti Sadeq Mohiuddin condemned the government's decision to interfere in Talaq, which he said is "purely an Islamic affair." “While Talaq is disliked in the religion, sometimes it serves as an emergency relief door for suppressed women as well as men,” he said.
