Himayat Nagar: Balala Hakkulu Sangam is an NGO which has been working for the last 31 years giving fresh lease of life to the children who have been victims of social evils. Achyuth Rao, the president of Balala Hakkulu Sangam sharing his experience about his work said, “I love children, spending time with them is no less than enjoying heavenly bliss.
The biggest problem with Indian society is about more than 40 percent of the children are deprived of parental love which they rightfully deserve. After watching these problems of children for 20 long years I decided to form an organisation which would be dedicated to serving the needs of these deprived children along with the victims of several social evils.”
He further added, “I think no child is poor or rich. All of them are equal and they deserve equal status. Last year we had rescued 73 children from falling into the trap of child marriage and rescued more than 200 children from small and large-scale industries and domestic labour and have sent them to rehabilitation centres run by government for a better life.”
When asked about the other activities of the organisation Achyuth Rao said, “We invite children for Children’s Day Programme on 14th November from various and rescued children, we also celebrate International Children’s day which is observed on 1st June of every year and frequently keep conducting medical camps for children who cannot afford medical expenses can get their check up done in our camps.”
Achyuth Rao along with NDTV and Rachakonda Police team had conducted a sting operation for a period of three months and were successfully able to nab the offenders who were involved in baby trafficking business on December 20.
