Malakpet: State government is contemplating to establish special IT Park for specially challenged persons very soon besides giving 3 per cent quota in Double Bedroom house allotment, announced MAUD minister K T Rama Rao on Friday.

He was speaking after inaugurating the customised park for specially/disabled persons in Malakpet. He further said a special park for physically challenged would be established in every municipality in the state.

The Malakpet Park was construction with a cost of Rs 77 lakh. The minister said that this kind of park was first of its kind across the country. He said that more parks for physically challenged persons would be established in other areas of greater Hyderabad if local public representatives come forward.

Explaining about the IT Park for physically challenged persons, he said that it would create direct and indirect jobs for them.

Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi on this occasion said that Telangana government was working for the welfare of all the sections of society without discrimination. He appreciated that municipal authorities have established a unique park where there used to be a dumping area earlier.

The park is equipped with other facilities like testing facility for deaf and dumb, physically challenged and other disabilities in the premises.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on this occasion praised the KCR for introducing welfare schemes in the state irrespective of caste and creed.

He said that Telangana was ahead in the country in terms of human development and welfare. Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that greater Hyderabad had 1,000 self help groups of disabled persons with 13,000 members. He said that municipal body has decided to provide an aid of Rs 13 crore to these self help groups. Malakpet legislator Ahmed Balala and others attended the event.
