Uppal: Uppal Corporator Anala Reddy undertook padayatra at Church colony, Sriramapuram and New Shantinagar and Satyanagar to address the low water pressure issue. Around five lakh people of Uppal have been facing this issue over the last 20 years now. Though several efforts were made to increase the water pressure to supply in these areas but none have them resulted in the permanent solution.
Anala Reddy, Uppal Corporator told The Hans India, “The water lines and pipes in these areas are very old. These pipes have not been cleaned for a long time now. This has resulted in supply in water with low pressure.
Though supply of water is regularly done, not everybody gets it in sufficient quantity, has been the complaint of the people.”She further added, “In the areas of Church colony, New Shanti Nagar and New Satyanagar, we have discovered that there are places which do not have correct water lines.
Therefore, we have decided to construct a new waterline for the residents in this area.”
When asked when the works would start Anala Reddy told The Hans India, “Today we have inspected the waterlines along with the water board officials.
The officials are will assess the problem and would prepare the budget accordingly which in turn has to be sanctioned by the water board officials. The complete process would take about one to one and a half month.”
On her further plans to develop the Uppal area, Anala Reddy told The Hans India, “We are planning to install 1 lakh street lights and address the stray dogs issues which has been a nuisance to commuters. We have already instructed the concerned departments to look into the matter. Within the first quarter of this year we are likely to solve these issues.”
