Accidents galore at DMRL X Roads
The Phisalbanda to Santosh Nagar (DMRL X Roads) has turned into an accident probe zone. The reason: one side of the road is wider. The road was constructed five years back and residents in the area blame the faulty design for the increasing number of accidents.

To add to the problem is the parking of vehicles at road-side shops which leaves no space for pedestrians. Mohammed Muzaffar, a resident of Santosh Nagar says, “We gave several representations to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) but it was of no use.” He further adds, “The road can still be redesigned.”
The traffic police too is helpless as the fault lies in the design of the road says Mohammed Abdul Rasheed, a businessman.
There are at least three accidents every week and a fatal accident once a month. Mohammed Inayath, a resident of Santosh Nagar says, “Most accidents take place during school going hours. Last week a girl was mowed down by a motorist as she was forced to walk on the road as there was no space on the footpath.”
