Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali inaugurated the ‘Qurrah’ (draw of lots) at the Haj House here. The computerised selection of 3,558 Haj pilgrims from Telangana for Haj 2018 was done by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai and was displayed at Haj House.

Nampally: Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali inaugurated the ‘Qurrah’ (draw of lots) at the Haj House here. The computerised selection of 3,558 Haj pilgrims from Telangana for Haj 2018 was done by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai and was displayed at Haj House.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dy CM congratulated the selected pilgrims and assured to get more Haj quota for the state. Meanwhile, AK Khan, Advisor to Government for Minorities Welfare advised the pilgrims to take care of their health for smooth performance of Haj.

Special Officer Telangana State Haj Committee Professor S A Shukoor said that the Haj Committee of India allotted a quota of 4,066 seats for Haj 2018, out of which 508 pilgrims were selected under the reserve category of 70+ years.

Mohammed Saleem MLC Chairman TS Waqf Board, Jaffer Hussain Meraj MLA also addressed the gathering. Mohammed Farooq Hussain MLC, Mohammed Qamruddin Chairman Telangana State Minorities Commission, Mamta Gupta Corporator and others were present on this occasion.
