Ramanthapur: With Sankranthi round the corner, the Hyderabadis are all set to welcome the festival for the year 2018 at a grand note. Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar decided to do something different this ‘Sankranthi’ season which can promote the essence of the festival among the people of the state.

As the MLA told The Hans India, “Our Mahila Morcha team of Bharatiya Janata Party went to every house of the area and invited them to join us for the programme. Altogether 1100 ladies, some of them are even students are scheduled to take part in the event.”

He further added, “There are nine different types of colors which we ordered for the participants. Each of these colours signifies the different values of life like Yellow signifies shakti, Blue signifies social justice and Orange sacrifice and many more. This is not only a rangoli competition but also a social gathering in which we would get to interact with people from different communities without any barriers.”

Sailaja, wife of Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar and a participant informed: “This is the first time rangoli competition that has been organised on a large scale on a single platform. Through this competition we have been able to discover the art which lies within us. Through this event we want to convey that we all are united irrespective of any differences.”

When asked what the Rangoli competition event means to him, the Uppal MLA said, “It is not only a competition, but a heartfelt and colourful event which we have organised, so that the ladies can come in and exchange pre celebrations greetings.

This is the reason why we have decided to give away gifts to all the participants in the competition so, that they can go back happy with sweet memories of the programme” he concluded.
