Uppal: With Sankranthi and birthday celebrations on the cards, Uppal corporator Anala Reddy decided to have both of them with the people of her division. There was a rangoli completion conducted in the Devender Nagar of Uppal constituency where people from four blocks participated in the event, in the presence of colony president Puli Raju.
Anala Reddy, Uppal Corporator began her day by seeking divine blessings by visiting Lord Venkateshwara temple in the morning. She said: “My greatest satisfaction lies in serving the people of my division. They are my strength and my happiness too.”
She further added, “About 50 families along with their children participated in the event. Best three rangolis were given prizes and consolation prizes were distributed to the other family members who had participated.”
Post competition Anala celebrated her 45th birthday with the children of her colony by cutting cake. About 250 members attended the birthday celebrations. The people of the division had a spark of joy in their eyes as they were celebrating the festival with their corporator.
When asked about the best part of the day, Reddy told The Hans India: “The best part was when I saw the complete family participating in the rangoli competition. Father, mother, daughter, sisters and so on, all of them were seen making rangoli together. The unity and the love with which they were trying to make their rangoli look best was the exact thing which we wanted to convey through programme.”
“The ultimate objective of any festival is to spread joy in and outside your family. We shall plan to hold such kind of competition more often, to ensure that, not only on festival days but also on other days they remain in the same spirit”, she concluded.
