Nacharam: St Pious X Degree and PG College for women launched their yearly cultural fest ‘Resonance’ for the year 2017-18. The college hosts this fest every year which also includes the colorful events from literary, cultural and aesthetic departments.
Cultural programme department in charge Preeta Ghosh, told The Hans India, “The students take part in the programmes with much enthusiasm. The event gives them a platform to showcase their talent on the stage and gain confidence to do things once when they are out of the college.”
“We form groups of students who would take care of the different events of the fest. And these groups do a follow up on the events which the students would be putting up for the fest. This fest not only helps them to gain confidence but also to develop leadership and managerial skills”, she said.
The programme was inaugurated by Nacharam Corporator Shanti Saizen Shekhar, who while addressing the young Piousians said that they should take the utmost advantage of all the activities in the college and come up with an all round personality and show the world that women can manage things both at home front and outside home.
Stressing on the subject women empowerment, the corporator also insisted the young women to report anything wrong which is happening in their surroundings. This would give confidence to other women in the society to speak up.
The colorful event of the fest would end on February 3 2018 followed by a closing ceremony of the cultural festival where the well deserving students would be given awards by the college Principal and Department Heads.
