Marredpally: February 2 was a special day at St. Andrews School Marredpally. Children of the pre-primary school excitedly bustled about in their classrooms, getting ready for Grandparent’s Day.

A warm welcome committee greeted the invitees. Proud grandparents gently moved into their seats, eagerly waiting to see what their grandchildren had in store for them.

The stage was beautifully decorated. Each grandparent was welcomed with a badge and a beautiful takeaway, made by the children. The school was engulfed by a truly festive spirit, photos were snapped, smiles and laughter spread everywhere.

The show began with a warm welcome from the academic coordinator Yasmin Shaik. The programme began with a prayer by Kiara of L.K G., followed by a prayer song My God is so Big!..so strong”. The grandparents were jubilant to see their young ones performing so confidently on stage.

The children then dedicated songs and poems in Telugu, English and Hindi to their grandparents. Lessons were enacted through a small skit on “Fruits and Vegetables” and “Community Helpers”, this showcased the fun way of learning that children experience at St. Andrews School.

A ramp walk showcasing various Indian States and Languages and a beautiful patriotic song named, “Bharat Mata ki Jai!” followed. The showstopper was a delightful dance to the song “Grandma Grandpa I love you”.

Rounds of applauses rang through the school at the end of the programme. A proud grandparent, Shanti Viswanath spoke to the audience, about how proud she was to be here today.
