Maha Sivaratri 2018: The zeal of Sivaratri reached the peak in the city. All famous  Shiva temples have been decked up  for celebrating  the festival which falls on Tuesday.  The temples were decorated with different types of flowers and  colourful lights.  

Hyderabad: The zeal of Sivaratri reached the peak in the city. All famous Shiva temples have been decked up for celebrating the festival which falls on Tuesday. The temples were decorated with different types of flowers and colourful lights.

The authorities of various temples made elaborate arrangements to meet the surging crowd of the pilgrims. There are various temples in the city like Sri Parvathi Rama Lingeswara swamy, Lord Shiva mallanna temple, Shivalayam temple, Sree Shiva Mandir and Uma Maheshwaralayam temple. Thousands of devotees are expected to throng the temple to seek the blessings of lord Shiva.

Speaking to the The Hans India Parashuram Sharma , priest,Uma Maheshwaralayam Temple said "last year 15000-20,000 devotees were present and this year we are excepting more than 20,000 devotees.We have made special arrangements for them with proper security with 25-30 police members present. We started Annadanam programme and it continues for a week."

"We find it difficult to meet the increasing demand of "Bel pattar" Milk and Bel fruit in many shops here and stalls are being set up for Sivaratri,’ said Mahesh a shopkeeper in the vicinity.
