Cherlapally: The students of Cherlapally Government Primary School which is in the outskirts of the city, do not drink water all day when they are at school just because there are no toilets in the school. In all there are 225 students, 111 girls, 114 boys. Revathy, (name changed on request) a student had to miss school for three days as she developed medical problems as she had to wait the whole day and only go to the toilet after reaching home.

In spite of several complaints from students, parents and locals, the authorities did not take action. The issue came to light after a local reporter tweeted to KCR alerted the Medchal District Collector, DEO to take an immediate action.

The DEO along with other officials promised to construct required number of toilets. In the meanwhile, students would be able to use the mobile toilets that would be pressed into service. The toilets would be ready within a month, said officials.
