Charminar: Chatrapati Shivaji Maratha Navayuvak Mandal celebrates Chatrapati Shivaji Jayanti on February 19 every year with active participation of various social organisations.

The statue of Shivaji on Imliban Bridge, opposite to Salarjung Museum was installed in the year 2002. The mandal will organise various cultural and social programs as part of Jayanti Utsav of the great warrior.

This year, a colourful procession will start at 11 am on February 19 from Puranapul and pass through Jumerat Bazaar, Chudi Bazaar, Begum Bazaar, Siddambar Bazaar, Shankar Sher Hotel, Bademiya petrol pump and culminates at Sri Chatrapati Shivaji Statue near Imliban. Cultural programmes such as lezim, Pune style drumbeats and bhajan mandali of Warkari Samaj will pass through welcome states, pandals and arches en-route.

A public meeting will be held from 3 pm onwards at Shivaji Statue, Imliban Bridge near MGBS. Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, National Commission for Scheduled Caste member K Ramulu, Musi River Frond Development Corporation chairman Prem Singh Rathode and others are expected to attend the event.
