City witnessing hectic construction activity
The building construction field in Greater Hyderabad is witnessing a hectic activity, with the GHMC issuing 50 per cent more permissions this year, as against those given the previous year.
Hyderabad: The building construction field in Greater Hyderabad is witnessing a hectic activity, with the GHMC issuing 50 per cent more permissions this year, as against those given the previous year.
The activity is the result of the simplification of the permission process, reducing the involvement of persons by accepting the applications online and issuing permissions within 21 days, as instructed by the State government, feel experts in the field.
As against 8,704 permissions issued in 2016-17, by February 13 this year 13,595 were issued by the GHMC, as many as 4,891 more yielding a revenue of Rs. 4,092.46 crore, as against Rs 526.64 crore in 2016-17. The construction activity being taken up includes Rs.50,000 crore SRDP,
one lakh two bedroom houses, white tapping by the State Road Development Organisation of several highways, Musi beautification, works to ensure regular water supply to the City outskirts, Metro Rail, and other basic infrastructure works, which ensure that Hyderabad becomes a global city.
