Congress, BJP accused of cheating SCs
Pidamarthi Ravi, Chairman, State SC Corporation, on Thursday accused the Congress and BJP of \'cheating\' dalits in the name of categorisation of SCs. Speaking as chief guest at a convetion organised by the Madiga JAC at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, he alleged that the BJP after promising to implement SC categorisation of within 100 days of coming to power had been ignoring it for the last four year
Musheerabad: Pidamarthi Ravi, Chairman, State SC Corporation, on Thursday accused the Congress and BJP of 'cheating' dalits in the name of categorisation of SCs. Speaking as chief guest at a convetion organised by the Madiga JAC at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, he alleged that the BJP after promising to implement SC categorisation of within 100 days of coming to power had been ignoring it for the last four years, thus cheating the SCs.
Ravi alleged that the leaders leading the agitation to press the demand were extending support to the ruling party and weakening the movement after bowing to the dictates of the leaders in power.
He questioned how Mandakrishna Madiga could secure an appointment with PM, after failing to meet the Chief Minister, for pressing to introduce a Bill on SC categorisation in Parliament. He demanded the Centre to table the Bill in the ensuing Parliament session.
At the event Dr B Ravinder was elected Madiga JAC president and R Surender convener of the student wing. Among those present were Dr Manda Suresh, Dr B Veerababu, Krishna, V Ellanna.
