In order to produce agricultural products free from chemicals and pesticides residues by adopting eco-friendly low cost technologies, a field demonstration on Organic Farming was held under ‘Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana’ (PKVY) scheme by the Agriculture Officer of Gajwel Mandal at Datharpally village with the local farmers. 

Gajwel : In order to produce agricultural products free from chemicals and pesticides residues by adopting eco-friendly low cost technologies, a field demonstration on Organic Farming was held under ‘Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana’ (PKVY) scheme by the Agriculture Officer of Gajwel Mandal at Datharpally village with the local farmers.

The farmers were educated on how to adopt organic agriculture using organic fertilisers granuals without using chemicals pesticides which deteriorates the fertility of the soil and also harmful to the health of humans.

KVY is an elaborated component of Soil Health Management (SHM) of major programme National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA). Under PKVY, Organic farming is promoted through adoption of village by Cluster Approach and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification by mobilising 50 or more farmers in a cluster of 50 acre land to take up the organic farming.

With this scheme intended to increase the income of the small and marginal farmers and to create a potential market, the farmers will also get the year wise financial assistance from the government under PKVY.
