Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu welcomed all the agencies who were present at the Pre-bid meeting and explained the present status of the Hussain Sagar Lake and facilities created under Hussain Sagar Lake Catchment Area Improvement Project here on Wednesday.

Global Invitation for Request for Proposal (RFP) to design, procure, implement proven technological intervention to arrest odour nuisance, algal blooms and to improve the water quality of Hussain Sagar lake.

During the meeting, 12 agencies have participated in the Pre-bid meeting and requested for extension of time to submit the proposals for 15 days for which HMDA Commissioner has agreed for extension of one week.

Chiranjeevulu informed that the successful Agency shall commence the work immediately after issue of Letter of Acceptance and the process of treatment shall be completed and odour nuisance has to be arrested on 16th day onwards during the period of intervention which is up to six months to one year.

He also informed that the technical proposals for all the agencies will be scrutinised by the committee comprising of the experts from Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI), Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) and National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB).
