Tandur: Holding back tears, a 15-year-old boy appeared for SSC examination at the Agganoor center in Yalala Mandal on Thursday. The boy had to take the exam fight tears back in the most trying circumstances as he had lost his father, bread-winner in the family, on Wednesday night to heart attack.

His father, Mohan Reddy (45), performed his daughter’s marriage last month and ran into financial difficulties. Unable to cope up with the difficulties, he collapsed on Wednesday night because of cardiac arrest plunging the family into darkness.

Srinivas Reddy who decided against taking the SCC exam was at last persuaded by family members and villagers to sit for the exam. He complied with the request. The villagers felt sorry for the boy, who had to take the public exam while his father’s body was waiting for cremation. After the exam, Srinivas Reddy performed the last rites of his father.
