Hyderabad: Kalyan Moravineni - an engineer by profession, set out on a path in the field of Artist Management & achieved distinction in managing top rated Indian artist in India & abroad. He always had an inkling towards the field of music. His zeal made him chose music as career immediately after completely his engineering in Hyderabad. An engineer by profession, musician by choice
Kalyan grabbed a number of opportunities which came his way after his graduation. He was appreciated by the artist and was also appreciated by famous Singer-Composer-A R Rahman.
It was A R Rahman who gave Kalyan a major break in the field of music and after meeting A R Rahman - he had no looking back, Success knocked his door when he independently organised a mega tour for A R Rahman in USA- 2015, touring major cities of USA. The Concert Tour of USA by A R Rahman was a major hit and Kalyan gained immense recognition in the field and was approached by many celebrity singers.
Speaking to The Hans India, Kalyan shares his love for music, I learned music since I was five years old. My father had a great collection of cassettes, he would play music regularly at home. He would play MJ, Madonna and Boney M and some old Telugu film music. He would also play the radio often. This was my foundation in music.
"I believe music doesn’t leave you just because you change your line of work. I regularly help fresher’s passionate about music to structure their thoughts and figure out what they really want to do in music."
Speaking to The Hans India, Kalyan says, “I was very clueless after my tenth standard; all I was really interested in was in computer games. MPC in intermediate was a decision taken by my parents and then ECE in engineering was my father’s decision. We have this amazing music club in my college called Crescendo. Club members performed at college and participated at inter-college competitions. The club and my interest in organising events in college were key factors in dreaming of a career in music.
Speaking about his experience working with A R Rahman, Kalyan says, “Rahman Sir is amazing in several ways. He has this incredible ability to put anyone from a six-year-old to a 60-year-old at ease and have conversations with them. His work is intense, and it is shown in his music. His score can make or break a narrative. It is this intensity and depth one should learn from him and adopt in their own lives.
