International Women’s Day was observed by District Mother, Child Welfare Department and Swatch Bharat Mission of District’s Rural Development Department in Siddipet on Friday. 

Siddipet: International Women’s Day was observed by District Mother, Child Welfare Department and Swatch Bharat Mission of District’s Rural Development Department in Siddipet on Friday.

As part of this, District Joint Collector flagged off a walkthon rally from Integrated Collectorate Complex to Viola Gardens in the town in which Deputy Collector Vasantha Kumari, Regional Organiser Boora Vijaya, District Welfare officer S Zareena Begum, women public representatives, district level officials, staffers and Self Help Groups women participated in the event.

Later, the winners of the competitions of cultural activities, sports and games were presented prizes. SHG women, Anganwadi teachers and women public representatives were felicitated for their best services. The guests of honour gave an illuminative talk on the importance of empowerment of women and their rights.

Women are playing key role in the contribution of country’s development while balancing their family and career as well. Mirdoddi MPP Kavitha, Degree College lecturer Suvarna and Municipality councilors Deepti, Ballaxmi and other officials were present at the programme.
