Dust pollution torments inter-state highway users
Vehicles travelling on the Manneguda-Parigi stretch of country road of the inter-state Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, which is under development, are kicking off a lot of dust making it difficult for others taking the road to commute. Raising of dust is attributed to the contractor who bagged the works laid soil on the road but did not care to cure it adequately.Â
Parigi: Vehicles travelling on the Manneguda-Parigi stretch of country road of the inter-state Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, which is under development, are kicking off a lot of dust making it difficult for others taking the road to commute. Raising of dust is attributed to the contractor who bagged the works laid soil on the road but did not care to cure it adequately.
In Pudurmandal, the double road from Manneguda to Parigi is being widening from double road to that of the triple road. Road works are under execution from Manneguda side. Age old trees that date back to the Nizam period were cut down on account of the road widening works causing obstruction to movement of the vehicles on the road. On account of installing caution at some places by the contractor road accidents are taking place. It may be recalled that two persons belonging to PeddaManchala met with tragic end in a road accident.
Recently Mission Bhagiradha pipelines were laid on either side of the road. Because of deployment of the JCBs by the contractors for road development works the pipelines developed cracks. Locals pointed out that the contractor, inspite of being alerted, did not pay attention to the issue and did not adopt precautions. Contractor has been executing the road works according to his whims and fancies for want of effective supervision by the officials.
