Musheerabad: The RTC Employees’ Union State general secretary Raji Reddy on Sunday demanded immediate wage revision of the corporation workers. At a press conference, he and president Babu accused the TRS government of neglecting the problems of RTC workers since last year. This showed the failure of the recognised union, they contended.

The union leaders stated that members of the union would go on relay hunger strike from March 19 to 23. They demanded a wage revision with 62 per cent fitment. If lower percentage was offered it would amount to cheating the workers by the recognised organisation. They wanted the master scale being implemented for RTC employees extended to the workers.

The two leaders charged the government with failing to provide any relief to the corporation in this year’s State Budget. They said it failed to show in the Budget the promise of enabling the RTC tide over its losses. Among those present at the press conference were State secretary Narsayya, Sai Reddy, Zakaraiah, Prabhakar.
