Irrigation and CAD Department of Telangana has sanctioned two more Check Dams in Medak Constituency which is represented by Deputy Speaker Padma Devendar Reddy with the capacity of 107 mcft water by expending Rs 36.49 crore in total. 

Medak: Irrigation and CAD Department of Telangana has sanctioned two more Check Dams in Medak Constituency which is represented by Deputy Speaker Padma Devendar Reddy with the capacity of 107 mcft water by expending Rs 36.49 crore in total.

The Dams will be constructed across Haldi River to cater needs of tail end of MN Canal at Rallamadugu village of Medak mandal and Manjeera River at confluence point of Nakkavagu near Kuchanpally village of Hawelighanpur mandal in Medak district. The GO bearing No 467 regarding the same had been issued by the I&CAD Department on Monday as Medak MLA Padma Devendar Reddy took the special interest in achieving the projects.

The proposed check dam at Rallamadugu with the capacity of 70 Mcft will be materialised at a cost of Rs 20.983 crore and the second project at Nakkavagu of 37 Mcft will be constructed with the expenditure of Rs 15.513 crore. On behalf of her constituency, Medak MLA Padma Devendar Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Irrigation Minister Harish Rao for sanctioning the Dams to store and uitilise the water for irrigation and to save the subsoil water levels as well.
