Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment (ATCOTE) of Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, conducted Graduation ceremony on Thursday in the form of Valedictory Dining-in-Night at Air Force Academy Officers’ Mess, to mark the successful completion of 129th Air Traffic Surveillance Services (ATSS) course. 

Dundigal: Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment (ATCOTE) of Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, conducted Graduation ceremony on Thursday in the form of Valedictory Dining-in-Night at Air Force Academy Officers’ Mess, to mark the successful completion of 129th Air Traffic Surveillance Services (ATSS) course.

25 officers comprising 19 from Indian Air Force, 05 from Indian Navy and one from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited graduated as Radar Controllers during this valedictory function. Air Vice Marshal NS Vaidya, Senior Officer-in-charge, Administration, HQ Training Command, graced the occasion as the Reviewing Officer. The young graduated Officers shall soon be shouldering crucial responsibilities of Radar Controllers at various airfields across India.

ATCOTE, at AFA, is a premier training establishment of the Indian Air Force that undertakes 'Air Traffic Services' training for the Officers from the Indian Air Force, Indian Army (IA), Indian Navy (IN), Indian Coast Guard (ICG), and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) as well as officers from Friendly Foreign Countries. The three months long ATSS course is a mid level course for graduation from ‘Procedural’ to ‘Radar’ control.

Flight Lieutenant Pankaj Sharma was adjudged First in Order of Merit as well as the best in Practicals. Flight Lieutenant Himani Tyagi was adjudged the best in theory while Flight Lieutenant Nitin Singh Rawat was awarded the most promising trainee trophy.

Air Vice Marshal NS Vaidya, emphasised in his address the criticality of Radar Controllers’ role in mission accomplishment of the Indian Air Force. He exhorted the graduating trainees to take the challenges head-on that lie ahead, and advised them to discharge the duty with absolute integrity, selfless service to the nation and excellence in everything that we do and actively contribute to the organisational goals of their respective service.
