Musheerabad: A backward classes ‘vidyavanthula vedika’ (intellectual forum) is to be formed here on March 30. Pamphlets on the vedika were released in BC Bhavan in Domalguda by Telangana BC Welfare Association president Jajula Srinivas, along with leaders of the proposed forum.

Addressing the gathering, he described the formation of the vedika as landmark in the struggle by BCs. Srinivas pointed out that the agitation by BCs seeking political power was lacking direction because of absence of ‘dasa-disa’. He stated that BCs had become CMs in other States, but this was not happening in the Telugu States. He alleged that conspiracies were being hatched against BCs getting political power.

Srinivas called upon the vedika to conduct a scientific study to what extent injustice has been done to BCs in all fields and to take the agitation forward. The BC leader appealed to intellectuals, doctors, engineers to join the vedika. Among the vedika leaders present were Dr. Bandi Sayanna, Dr Vijay Bhaskar, Basava Chennappa, former principal of Prof. Siddam Goud College Dr Yadagiri, student leader K Srinivas.
