Corporator fasts to fight mosquito menace
Local corporator Shanti Shekhar undertook a protest fast at Patel Kunta Cheruvu on Tuesday while expressing her resolve to take up a fight against mosquitoes in Nacharam and its surrounding areas. Speaking on the occasion, she stated that already over 50 representations have been submitted to the officials concerned; but they have been evading the issue.
Nacharam: Local corporator Shanti Shekhar undertook a protest fast at Patel Kunta Cheruvu on Tuesday while expressing her resolve to take up a fight against mosquitoes in Nacharam and its surrounding areas. Speaking on the occasion, she stated that already over 50 representations have been submitted to the officials concerned; but they have been evading the issue.
Shanti expressed ire at the officials for not bothering for two years about removal of hyacinth in local water bodies. She pointed out that residents of several colonies in Nacharam were facing severe mosquito menace. She threatened to stage indefinite fast if the issue was not solved. Congress Party Uppal constituency in-charge Bandari Lakshma Reddy and local residents/activists extended support to the corporator.
