Students, led by the ABVP, staged a blind-folded protest in front of the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University here on Wednesday denouncing the Government of Telangana’s private universities’ bill. They said that it was aimed at weakening government universities. 

Hyderabad: Students, led by the ABVP, staged a blind-folded protest in front of the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University here on Wednesday denouncing the Government of Telangana’s private universities’ bill. They said that it was aimed at weakening government universities.

ABVP Saifabad zonal in-charge Kamal Suresh demanded that the government to withdraw the bill and develop the government universities. He wanted the government to appoint governing bodies to all universities in the State, fill teaching and non-teaching posts.

He also sought implementation of KG-to-PG free education. Student leaders Vaisali, Badri, Arun, Kishore, Raghavender, Aravind, Vamsi, Pranay, Siva and others took part in the protest programme.
