Musheerabad: Small traders and pushcart vendors who have been operating on either side of the road in Bandamaisamma Crossroads of Kavadiguda division for the last 30-40 years on Wednesday expressed anguish over the GHMC officials forcefully removing them without any caution and not giving them information.

They stated that their families have been thrown to the streets. The traders pointed out that footpaths on the main roads in Musheerabad have been occupied in front of shopping malls, food centres and cinema halls. Yet no action is being taken against the offenders, they pointed out. The petty traders said they had been conducting business without resorting to occupation of roads, while accusing the administration of adopting a vengeful attitude.

Their establishments included small cutting shops, tea stalls, tailor shops. They told The Hans India that they have been running the petty business for years only with the motive of supporting their families. Now they have to face hardships for educating their children. They expressed anguish that no politician or corporator was bothered about their plight. Are they blind to our hardships, the traders questioned.
