Siddipet: All the religious festivals need to be celebrated with secularism to establish the unity in diversity, said the Siddiept Commssioner of Police V Shiva Kumar on Thursday at an awareness meeting on conducting the Shobha yatra on Hanuman Jayanti that to be celebrated on March 31.

The CP spoke to the organisers of the rally at Rangadhampally crossroads on the matter saying the festivals irrespective of religions need to be celebrated by the people of the country and the state with fervor in peaceful manner strengthening harmony among all sections of the society without causing disturbance to the law and order.

The CP said, within the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate, the law and order is good and brotherhood among the people irrespective of religions and creed. People including the seers of the religions should also be alert regarding the rumours on the social media about the religions and other fake news circulating the false information about the religious tensions at the time of celebrations. BJP leaders and VHP representatives and other police officers were present at the meeting.
